Drilling bentonite is a type of clay containing montmorillonite that, due to its high swelling capacity and ability to form a gel, is used as a key component of drilling fluid in the oil, gas, and water industries. This material optimizes drilling operations by lubricating, cooling the drill bit, carrying solid drilling materials, and stabilizing the wellbore, preventing well collapse and unwanted fluid intrusion.
Two main types of bentonite are used in the drilling industry:
Sodium Bentonite: This type of bentonite has a high swelling capacity and is suitable for creating drilling mud with high viscosity.
Calcium Bentonite: This type swells less but is more resistant to ionic contamination.
Types of drilling bentonite packaging:
25 kg bags (suitable for small purchases)
500 kg jumbo bags
1000 kg big bags (suitable for bulk purchases)
Bulk (for large projects)
Kimia Tejarat Pishgaman Group is one of the main suppliers and exporters of various types of drilling bentonite, capable of providing all packaging types for domestic and export customers.
