Sodium carbonate is divided into two light and heavy categories, both of which have different applications. These two compounds are not chemically different in their molecular structure and are quite the same. The only difference is in the density and size of their crystals and in fact their physical properties. The style of this product is a small white powder that has no special smell and its density is half its heavy form and is about 0.77 grams per liter. Light sodium carbonate also contains less than 0.5 % sodium chloride. The most applications of heavy sodium carbonate are as solid, especially in the manufacture of glass and ceramic tiles. The use of light sodium carbonate is traditionally needed as a chemical in the solution. In general, about 50 % of the total sodium carbonate production is in the manufacture of glass and its heavy type, 18 % is used in other chemicals and 10 % in soaps and detergents and the rest in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
