Hydroxy -propyl cellulose is a propylene glycol ether of methyl cellulose, combines hydroxy propyl and methyl with a thick glucose ring by the ether band. Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose is powdered or white or white cellulose particles. The characteristics of cold and insoluble water dissolution in hot water are similar to methyl cellulose. Its solubility in organic solvents is greater than that of water, it can be dissolved in water methanol and ethanol.
This product is used as a thickener, sprayer, bonding, emulsifier and stabilizer in the textile industry. It is also widely used in synthetic resins, petrochemicals, ceramics, paper, leather, medicine, food, cosmetics and other industries.
