It is white or yellowish with a mild smell and is available in the market in concentrations of 30 and 70 percent. Texapon is one of the anionic surfactants and belongs to the family of alkyl ether sulfates and is obtained by combining a fatty alcohol such as coconut oil with ethylene oxide and subsequent sulfonation.
Texapon comes in two forms N70 and Texapen are available. Shell Texapon has lower purity than N70 and is used in the production of shell and non-transparent detergent products such as shampoos. Texapon N70 is a paste with high viscosity that is used in the production of clear detergent liquids.
