پلی کربنات (PC) نوعی پلاستیک شفاف، سبک و مقاوم در برابر ضربه و حرارت است. این پلیمر مهندسی که از طریق پلیمریزاسیون در دمای بالا و فشار زیاد تولید می‌شود شفافیتی مشابه شیشه دارد؛ اما بسیار سبک‌تر و قابل شکل‌دهی است. این پلیمر مهندسی قابل بازیافت بوده و جایگزین مناسبی برای شیشه است. پلی کربنات در طیف گسترده ای از کاربردها استفاده می شود، از جمله:
