Zeolite
He named the minerals from zeolite, from the Greek words zein and lithos, meaning boiling stones, because the minerals foamed when blown by a blowtorch. Until the discovery of chabazite, zeolites had not been noticed. Zeolites are crystalline and hydrated aluminosilicates of alkaline and alkaline earth metals, especially sodium, calcium, magnesium, strontium and barium.
