تنگستن به عنوان یکی از فلزات گران بها و کمیاب در طبیعت شناخته شده و تنها نوع ترکیب شده آن با سایر عناصر در طبیعت موجود است، به همین دلیل امکان دسترسی به نوع خالص آن بسیار سخت و در برخی مواقع ناممکن می باشد. امکان یافتن این نوع ماده در سنگ های شئلیت و ولفرامیت وجود دارد. دمای ذوب و جوش این فلز نیز تا حدود بسیار زیادی بالا بوده به طوری که نقطه ذوب آن 3422 درجه سانتی گراد و نقطه جوش نیز 5555 درجه سانتی گراد می‌ باشد. در رابطه با چگالی این نوع فلز نیز می ‌توان گفت که تقریباً نزدیک به چگالی طلا و اورانیوم بوده و 19/30 برابر چگالی آب است. فلز تنگستن کارباید مقاومت بسیار زیادی در برابر خورندگی از خود نشان می دهد و شاید برای شما جالب باشد که این نکته را بدانید این عنصر در ساختار برخی از باکتری ها وجود دارد، اما نه برای گونه‌های تکامل یافته آن در بسیاری از موارد ممکن است فلز تنگستن دچار اکسیداسیون شود و این امکان فراهم شده تا با استفاده از کربن یا هیدروژن در فرایند اکسیداسیون آن را بسیار کاهش دهند. در رابطه با سایر موارد مربوط به این فلز می توان گفت که دارای یک رنگ خاکستری روشن بوده و سختی بسیار بالایی یعنی در حدود چندین برابر فولاد دارای سختی می باشد، اما این فلز کاملاً ترد و شکننده و همچنین قابلیت کار کردن با آن نیز بسیار پایین است ولی پس از انجام فرآیند خالص سازی با توجه به اینکه هنوز هم دارای سختی های خاص خود می باشد، اما از این امکان برخوردار است که خاصیت شکل پذیری داشته باشد و کار کردن روی این نوع فلز نیز نسبت به قبل آسان ‌تر شود. از جمله عملیات هایی که می توان با این نوع فلز انجام داد عبارتند از: شکل دهی های مختلف مثل: عملیات کشش فورجینگ، اکسترود و ... جالب است بدانید یکی از فلزاتی که استفاده زیادی در دنیای زیورآلات و مد دارد فلز تنگستـن است. این فلز خاصیت عدم ایجاد حساسیت بر روی پوست را داراست که باعث گردیده از آن در دنیای زیورآلات و بدلیجات به وفور استفاده گردد در کل کاربرد تنگستـن و آلیاژهای آن به 13 دسته اصلی تقسیم می‌شود: صنعت روشنایی صنعت الکترونیک تکنولوژی دما بالا جوشکاری مهندسی پزشکی، تشعشع و تولید پرتو ایکس نظامی متالورژی فولادهای آلیاژی سوپر آلیاژها کاربید تنگستـن فلزات سنگین (هوی متال ها) آشکارسازها ورزشی

مزایای این روش در حال حاضر به عنوان یکی از کاربردی ترین روش های پوشش دهی در ترمیم و افزایش مقاومت به سایش و خوردگی سطوح قطعات صنعتی به کار می رود. این روش که به روش جوش سرد نیز معروف است به دلیل عدم افزایش دمای سطح فلز پایه حداقل تاثیرات و تغییرات خواص متالوژیکی در قطعه را ایجاد می کند. فرآیند متال اسپری فرآیند متال اسپری بر پایه پاشش فلز مذاب بر روی سطح به منظور دستیابی به یک لایه مقاوم طرح ریزی شده است.مواد پوشش دهنده به فرم مفتول توسط شعله که معمولا شعله اکسی استیلن می باشد ذوب شده و سپس به وسیله هوای فشرده به شکل ذرات پاشش (اتمایز) می شود. هنگامی که ذرات به سطح فلز پایه برخورد می کنند، قطرات ریز ذوب شده به سرعت منجمد و پوشش را تشکیل می دهند. یکی از مهمترین کاربردهای فرآیند متال اسپری، ترمیم محل بولبرینگ، بوش و سایر قطعات در پمپ ها و تجهیزات دوار است. دلایل انتخاب تکنولوژی متال اسپری چیست ؟ الف : پوشش دهی جهت قطعاتی که دچار خوردگی و کاهش سایز هستند ب : پوشش دهی جهت جلوگیری از زنگ زدگی سازه ها ج : پوشش دهی جهت جلوگیری از خوردگی شیمیایی قطعات و سازه ها د : پوشش دهی جهت جلوگیری از سایش قطعات حساس و درگیر پروسه متال اسپری در شکل نشان داده میشود. در متال اسپری میتوان انواع آلیاژهای بابیت برنز آلمینیوم تا فولاد استیل و . . . را پاشید و به نتایج دلخواه دست یافت.

یاتاقان و انواع آن حرکت دو قطعه فلزی را روی هم تصور کنید به صورتی که بین دو قطعه هیچ قطعه تسهیل کننده حرکتی قرار نگرفته باشد. این دو قطعه در زمان کوتاهی در اثر حرارت ایجاد شده و اصطکاک، دچار خوردگی و یا شکست می‌شوند. کارایی اصلی یاتاقان‌ها درست در همین شرایط است. ساخت یاتاقان و انواع زیرمجموعه آن، از جمله بلبرینگ‌ها و رولبرینگ‌ها ساخته شدند تا اصطکاک بین قطعات سیستم‌های مکانیکی به حداقل برسد و غلتک‌های موجود در یاتاقان‌ها، حرکت قطعات نسبت به هم را تسهیل کنند. همچنین مانع ایجاد لرزش قطعات مکانیکی و ایجاد سرو صدای ناشی از انتقال نیرو قطعات به هم باشند. کاربرد دیگر یاتاقان نگهداری محکم قطعات در کنار هم است. یاتاقان‌ها معمولا شامل دو حلقه و ساچمه در اندازه‌ها و انواع مختلف هستند که با توجه به شکل ظاهری، کاربردهای مختلفی دارند. این ساچمه‌ها در داخل حلقه قرار می‌گیرند و با غلتیدن بین دو قطعه، باعث تسهیل حرکات قطعات می‌شوند. بلبرینگ‌ها زیرمجموعه‌ای از یاتاقان‌ها هستند. به طور کلی ساخت یاتاقان در روهام صنعت از دو زیر مجموعه بلبرینگ‌ و رولبرینگ‌ است. همانطور که قبلا اشاره شد، تفاوت در شکل ظاهری آن‌ها باعث ایجاد تمایز در کاربردهای انواع مختلف یاتاقان می‌شود. اگر یاتاقان دارای ساچمه‌های گرد و به شکل توپ بود، یاتاقان از نوع بلبرینگ است؛ اما اگر ساچمه‌های موجود در حلقه دارای اشکال مختلفی مانند سوزنی یا استوانه‌ای، مخروطی و… بود یاتاقان از نوع رولبرینگ است. بابیت ریزی یاتاقان پس از بستن یاتاقان به دستگاه سانتریفیوژ و و محکم کردن تمامی پیچ ها، دستگاه روشن میشود. جهت اطمینان از لق نبودن یاتاقان، بایستی در ابتدای کار سرعت دورانی دستگاه بالا باشد سپس قطر داخلی فلزی یاتاقان ( بدون بابیت) اندازه گیری شده و بر اساس ضخامت با بیت وزن آن مشخص می شود. سپس پس از ذوب بابیت و پایین آمدن حرکت دورانی دستگاه سطح داخلی یاتاقان حرارت داده می شود هنگامی که دمای سطوح داخلی و بیرونی یاتاقان به حد مشخصی رسید باید با به کارگیری محلول کلرید روی و پودر کلرید از تمیز بودن سطح داخلی پوسته اطمینان حاصل نمود. در ادامه روند بابیت ریزی، با افزایش بیشتر دمای سطوح یاتاقان، قلع مذاب سطح داخلی یاتاقان را می پوشاند. پس از اطمینان از چسبندگی قلعه قرار داده شده در داخل یاتاقان، سرعت دورانی دستگاه سانتریفیوژ به حد مشخصی رسیده و بابیت تهیه شده به پوسته یاتاقان تزریق می شود توجه به این نکته نیز حائز اهمیت است که پیچ های موجود در مجموعه ( بر اثر افزایش دما امکان لقی آنها وجود دارد) در هر مرحله از کار محکم شوند در ادامه پس از ریختن کامل بابیت به سطح داخلی پوسته، جریان آب سرد در سطح بیرونی یاتاقان ایجاد می شود تا با سرد شدن سریع پوسته یاتاقان انجماد جهت دار صورت گیرد.
