The main components of valves include body, cap or bonnet, conduit, yoke, cap, shaft, disc, seat, trim and actuator.

Features of industrial valves
These equipments have a wide range of features that will be different according to their type and function. In general, valves in the industry are made of cast iron, brass, bronze, steel, carbon steel and stainless steel. Among them, brass valves and cast iron valves are more commonly used. Industrial valve standard
In the field of valves used in the industry, 22 international standards are common. Among these standards, four are more applicable. The API 591 standard examines such things as the tensile strength of the valve stem, body, and sealing. Another widely used standard is the API 598 standard, which deals with valve inspection, inspection location, pressure test and how to apply test pressure. ISO 52008, API 6D and BS 6755 can be mentioned among other valve testing and inspection standards. API 599 standard for cone valves and API 600 standard are used in oil, gas and petrochemical industry. In addition to these international standards, two standards, IGS and IPS, can be mentioned, which are more suited to Iran's conditions.
